Irish opera star prepares to take the stage in Christchurch.

Irish opera star prepares to take the stage in Christchurch (seven years after originally planned).

WHO:Orla boylan (opera singer).

WHAT: A famous Irish opera star Orla Boylan, is excited for her first time in doing opera in Christchurch next Thursday. The 45 year old soprano will sing the role of Tosca during our NZ Opera's season. Seven  years ago Orla was supposed to do this but she couldn't because of the horrible earthquake.Irish opera star Orla Boylan is looking forward to performing for the first time in Christchurch next week – some seven years later than she originally planned. On her arrival in Auckland for rehearsals last week, Orla says she was on the verge of signing on the dotted line for a show in the Garden City in 2011 when the devastating February earthquake struck. Then, when she joined the NZ Opera to play  Tosca for the first time in 2015.

WHEN:Next Thursday the 8th of March instead of doing it 7 years ago.

WHY:She is doing it next week instead of 7 years ago because of the disastrous February quake.

I WONDER:I wonder why she could have not done it in another month 7 years ago.

IN MY OPINION:I think its nice that she is going to try sing Tosca again but hopefully an earthquake wont strike this time. 😊

GLOSSARY:Soprano- A type of classical female singing voice and has the highest vocal range of all voice types.
